ELIE WIESEL GOES HOME, Should You?
This film, directed by Judit Elik and featuring William Hurt reading passages from various books by Wiesel, follows the author as he returns in 1994 to Romania and Poland, where he reminisces with the various wartime survivors and tours Auschwitz. Hurt does a somewhat monotone reading of the narration while Mr. Wiesel offers very little in terms of ideological or philosophical insight. This film is simply a dud.
