The Disaster of Cell Phone Coverage
The New York Times today featured a story about a French cellphone magnate, a Mr. Stephane Richard, who dared say that, if he had the ability, he would cut ties with Israel "tomorrow morning". This of course has led to a huge backlash and Bibi throwing a tantrum. The Times, of course, used this opportunity to segue into a multi-paragraph diatribe about the BDS movement and the growing political discomfort it is causing the Knesset. There is much to be said about this, including the growing length of column inches the Grey Lady is devoting to BDS, but the most notable point for me is how absolutely removed from reality that the coverage is. There's no mention of the status of the two-state solution, no mention of the international community's consensus around that avenue, not even a hint about the demographic issue. This is going to be an interesting topic to continue tracking as time progresses.
